ARTWORK GUIDELINES

We have prepared the following guide, to assist you with preparing your electronic file for submission, as improperly prepared files can cause delays in manufacturing.

If you have a specific problem that is not covered in this guide, or have other questions, please feel free to contact us.

Color Specifications

On screen print previews are not a trusted tool for guaranteeing color accuracy. Colors in the file might be affected by monitor calibration, screen resolution and lighting, just to name a few.

For this reason, we offer printed proofs which is a better way to make sure your files will print as expected. You can get up to 4 free printed proofs with your first order.

Image Resolutions and Settings

The following outlines the specific file requirements.

► Files should be between 150 and 300 dpi at 100% of actual size for quality reproduction.

► They should be saved in RGB, 8 bits.

► They should be saved in JPG or PNG.

Image Orientation

► In the image preview, after you have selected your file to upload, you can crop your image to fit the desired size.

If you need to change the orientation of the preview, click on the ‘Aspect Ratio’ button in the top right to change the orientation to either Horizontal or Vertical.

The image will print as shown in the preview so if you see that your image is cropped there, then it will be cropped in the final print.

Border Options:

Image Border

► If you order a canvas with an image border, make sure you prepare your file accordingly. We will not be able to reprint your file if not prepared correctly. The preview will not show which part will go on the sides so make sure you verified your file.

► For a canvas stretched on 0.75”, we need an extra 1” all around. For example, for a 16x20, we will need an 18x22 file.

► For a canvas stretched on 1”, we need an extra 1.25” all around. For example, for a 16x20, we will need an 18.5x22.5 file.

► For a canvas stretched on 1.5”, we need an extra 1.75” all around. For example, for a 16x20, we will need a 19.5x23.5 file.

Color Border

► If you select the ‘color’ border option, please click on the black square that is displayed, to select the color of the border you want.

If you do not change the color here, your order will be printed with a black border.

Mirror Border

► If you select the ’mirror’ border option, make sure you don’t have anything close to the borders which will look weird if mirrored on the sides. For example, part of a head or a face.

Also make sure your image goes up to the border of your image.

If you send a file of your painting for example and it is not cropped correctly (black strokes on the borders, part of the background showing, etc), it will show even more when we do the mirror.

Smart Expand Border

► The border will be created to expand your image, so that it will look like an image border without the compromise of losing part of your image to the sides.
